TRANSFER | middenvelder Mateja Bajunovic maakt transfer en tekent eerste profcontract.

Prestige Sports transfereert talentvolle middenvelder Bajunovic (19) van FC Dordrecht naar Neftochimic Burgas.
Daar zal de begenadigd linkspoot teamgenoot worden van Kihami Da Costa die eerder deze maand ook de overstap maakte naar het tweede hoogste niveau van Bulgarije.

De afgelopen weken was de uit Spijkenisse afkomstige all- round middenvelder op proef bij de club aan de Zwarte Zee. En met succes. Bajunovic heeft laten zien veelzijdig te zijn, op meerdere posities goed uit de voeten te kunnen en over een heel goed linkerbeen te beschikken. De middenvelder met Servische roots was meteen speelgerechtigd voor de thuiswedstrijd met Dob. Dobrich en heeft hierdoor ook meteen zijn officiële debuut te pakken. Bajunovic verscheen ruim 20 min voor tijd bij een tussenstand van 0-0 binnen de lijnen.

Mateja was met zijn spelhervattingen meteen gevaarlijk en zag in de dying seconds zijn ploeg de eerste 3 punten van het seizoen binnen slepen.

De jonge middenvelder begon te voetballen bij zijn plaatselijke voetbalclub vv Spijkenisse maar werd daar al gauw opgepikt door Sparta Rotterdam, Feyenoord en Excelsior Rotterdam om vervolgens de laatste jaren bij FC Dordrecht uit te zijn gekomen. Bij FC Dordrecht maakte Mateja afgelopen seizoen nog zijn officiële debuut, echter bleef de echte doorbraak uit aan de Krommedijk.

“Mede daardoor zet ik mijn carrière voort in Bulgarije. Ik ben erg blij met de mogelijkheid dat ik bij deze mooie club betaald voetbal kan spelen. Het voelde alsof ik bij Dordrecht op een dood spoor was beland dit seizoen. Ik was erg toe aan een stap als deze, uitzicht op veel speelminuten en ervaring opdoen. Heerlijk dat ik dan ook meteen mijn eerste minuten al heb kunnen maken. Een mooie bijkomstigheid zijn de eerste drie punten van het seizoen, dat smaakt naar meer.“ aldus Mateja Bajunovic.
